bars have to mark up to not only replace the inventory but also make a profit, to pay the people working as well as pay the rent for the place. that means there's a markup on the price of drinks from the cost you'd pay if you just went out and bought one directly. bars couldn't exist otherwise
for me as long as i order cheap bourbon at a more reasonable place that's just a couple dollars extra per drink. that's low enough of a "convenience fee" not to bother me if i have to be out. even if i drink more than usual that's only a handful of dollars i'm out more than if i stayed home - and i usually DD anyway so i never drink much out
