I'm looking for places to live in northern Vermont, in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, over an hour from Burlington which is orders of magnitude smaller than NYC, and the average place is still 700 or 800$. It seems like 1bd 1ba are the most expensive--it's cheaper living with roommates. Thought that's difficult to do when you are socially retarded. Almost makes it not worth it.
