Want to write about 4chan for my history article at uni, suggestions?

Hi /pol/.
I am taking a 1-year course in History at the University, while I am recovering from a nerve-damage in my shoulder that made me unable to keep working.
I need to write about a human artefact, and I thought that I'd want to write about 4chan. There are so many things one could write about though, but I was thinking about writing specifically about how 4chan has directly impacted the life-status of real people.
In particular, the cases such as the time when 4chan found the coordinates for rebel groups in Syria and sent it to the Russian military on twitter, is an excellent example of this.
I'm considering also the culture/activism that animal cruelty and animal torture previously has caused on 4chan, such as the instances where the abusers who either posted here directly or on other social media, got caught and reported to local authorities, by diligent work from various anons.
I am NOT interested in focusing on the people who did school shootings, incel revenge, or writing in general about the horrible people who were hunted themselves. I in particular want to write about the specific cases where HELPFUL anons helped to have xyz arrested, caught or killed in action.
My teacher is quite SJW, do with that info what you will. It would kinda be interesting to write about anons' contributions to catching women doing bad shit, as I would imagine there would be interesting differences.
You are free to influence me whatever way you want, but I'd love in particular if you could provide me with these things:
A specific topic or "question" to uncover, for my historical article
Specific stories worth writing about
Useful scientific or research material, preferably second hand sources, not primary sources (so a study article, an archived thread link or png would be a primary source).
My goal is to write an article that is first and foremost interesting for an anon to read, I dont mind writing triggering conclusions as long as I get a passing grade.
