>>12648819ended up going very off the rails. short version is that we were supposed to go to a party for bigwigs and assassinate some politicians, but we showed up in town the night before the party. DM expected us to maybe do some reconnaissance then turn in for the night and do our prep work leading up to the event.
instead we ended up befriending one random politician that wasn't on our hitlist, finding the inn that two of our targets were staying at, snuck into one's room to kidnap him by temporarily turning him into a spider, talking to him for a while to make a disguise so one guy could impersonate him going forward before killing that guy and leaving the body in the woods, breaking into the other target's room so i could cave in his skull, dumping his body in the lake behind the inn, then finally telling the guy we made friends with that everyone was onto his corrupt actions and looking to arrest him so that he'd flee town in a hurry, making it easy to pin the murder on him
