So, I have taken my fair share of SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclics etc... what works for one person won’t necessarily work for another even if its treating the same symptoms. Sertaline is one of the mildest SSRIs out there and for some people it absolutely works. The problem is, you the patient, have to be sure that medication is what you need to get right. If there is any alternative (within reason, don’t go sticking crystals in your dick hole or anything) then you should try that first.
I probably could have used combination therapy/pharmacology short term and been fine. I fucked up Andrew last time I stopped taking my cymbalta, which I tapered off over the course of a year, I made it about three weeks and I was all over the place emotionally. It was ruining my life. I ended up back on them and now I have doubts if I’ll ever be off of them.
