Fluffies are derived from mlp frustration, eventually developing into it's own identity. I saw it most on 4/b/. Users would create and post mutilation, psychological torture, and abuse of the fluffy creatures. There was a website dedicated to hosting this content, but there was alterations between the administrator and the community. Here is a sample:
