>>21004898Dealing with autistic people is usually nothing short of exhausting. I was at subway on my lunch break last week and I made the mistake of wearing a shirt with literally anything on it. It happened to be my U of M shirt. I walk in to grab my sub, and on the way out an austistic dad and his autistic son were sitting at a table and his dad yells "go blue". I'm like hell yeah brother and continue to walk out. He then starts to talk football with me and I banter for a minute. I notice he has a completely blank stare as he's talking to me and doesn't show any emotion which is a key characteristic of autism. So I keep trying to leave and he can clearly see me trying to leave but because of his autism he can't take the social queue that i'm trying to get the fuck out of there and he just keeps talking. I say several times that it was nice talking to you, I gotta go. Still doesn't stop talking. I eventually just left and I could hear him talking even when I was outside. I don't understand how autistic people cannot grasp simple social cues like this. It's basically common fucking sense. Can one of the thousand of you autists here explain it to me?
