Jesus taught it was by faith only. Jesus said in John 6:47 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
We find hegelian dialectics in politics, especially in american politics where is is possibly the most conspicuous. But we also find hegelian dialectics in religious sects as well, we often see two big religious denominations seemingly disagreeing with each other but they really are teaching the same thing. Official salvation doctrine of the roman catholic church is faith + works and other denominations that disagree or condemn the roman catholic church oftentimes teach works based salvation themselves in some shape or form. Many false prophets like to go to James 2 to teach that you need works to be saved, or that if you don't do the works, then you are not really saved, but James 2 starts with 'my brethren' in verses 1, 14 and verse 5 even has 'my beloved brethren' in it. James was written to already saved Christians, it's not talking about salvation. Matthew 7:21-23 is literally talking about Jesus rejecting people who believed in their own 'wonderful works' to save them. The will of the Father in Matthew 7:21 is mentioned in John 6:40 which also teaches sola fide. Jesus said in John 6:40 KJV
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
If you weren't 100% sure of your salvation (this usually happens if you trust your own works), read through the tract. If you believe it and realize your works have nothing to do with your salvation, ask Jesus to save you. It's once saved always saved because you can't lose eternal life. Once you receive the gift of eternal life, it's for forever.
