I do know what it is, yet I do not strive for it. Stoicism is contrary to my way of living. I very much prefer appreciating every little good thing life throws at me and mourning the sad events than trying not to show any emotion at all. In my opinion expression is an important part of being a human, for tons of reasons which I won't list here. Although I am going to state that in my view of the world, so in one created by my own experiences, stoicism is a way less effective way of strenghtening one's character, than building it up with emotions, events, people one knew, thinking, discussions (this one especially) etc. using proper mortar of approach to... well, everything. I also don't think we should base our views on existing archetypes, yet I do understand people who do and I do not think they are in any kind of way worse because of it. I would just be afraid that their way of thinking could be not as sincere as if they started "from scratch".
I am sorry for chaos in my statement, I could phrase my thoughts much better, yet I don't want to spend too much time on it, because, as a person who discussed similliar matters a lot (with some of the wisest people I have ever knew, it may be appropriate to add), I could go on and on about such topic and ones related to it for hours, if not more~ I hope I did convey what I wanted to.
