Only if you take it chronically before the age of 24-25. Afterward it doesn't have nearly as much of a negative effect on you and best of all it's not permanent, where as if you take it while you're still developing most of the changes can be permanent.
The worst negative effects for people who take it regularly are "mind fog", apathy, laziness, and like all drugs which affect your serotonin and dopamine you can fall into depression and drug-reliance very easily. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't chase the dragon on pot, you'll go from smoking a bit to buying a bong to smoking concentrates pretty easily.
My suggestion is, if you're older than 24, stick with edibles and take week-long breaks inbetween.
Or don't, take it whenever you want to feel comfortable. Soon it'll be like taking your phone to the bathroom and you won't be able to ever get comfortable without smoking weed because you mentally become dependent on the habit. If that doesn't bother you at all I'd say you should do it just for the chance at internal reflection.
Don't ever let it take over your life, the second you start spending money on it bi-weekly is the second you need to quit and evaluate your mental structure and goals in life.
This goes the same for any "safe" drug. Coffee, alcohol, mushrooms, sugar, ect. all can very easily and subtly take control of your life if you don't take control of them. Once you start thinking "I can't start my day without x", you're no longer in control.
