>>11899352'uge room indeed. the short version is that you have 6 total spell slots including 1 basic attack and 1 dash. most of the basic attacks are more or less the same just with different elements, speed, and range while most of the dashes are borderline identical, but the other slots are where it starts going crazy
not including the basic attacks and dashes there are almost 150 spells to choose from for those last 4 slots and while some are quite similar most are very unique. of these 150 spells ~1/3 are available to be chosen as a "signature spell" which automatically upgrades it for normal use and also gives it a bar that charges when you do damage. when that bar gets full the your signature's cooldown is reset and your next cast does something special which is usually acting as if you casted it 5 times at once
you only get to choose 1 signature and 1 other spell before the run starts so you gotta fill the last 2 slots along the way but it's still plenty of customization
