Spent years studying to do physics research, get astrophysics BS degree and math BS but don't make it into a grad program because the school has no funds for the department. Spend a year job hunting, fucking no one hires, half listings never even respond so I'm left applying repeatedly for months, some are literally fake listing to get attention. School fucks over gf working at affiliated lab, cuts her hours twice, cuts wages, tells her because of no funding but no one would be fired. week later she's told she's getting fired in a month. Her department cant provide a TA position, her forced retirement plan will disappear without being employed to place she was fired from. School completely back down on the payments added to it because she's not employed, also cut 20% because she's not retired, also 10% tax and no one around knows anything about the process of transferring it to IRA. I finally get a part time analysis job for lightning research at the school. Find out if I get into the grad program to study astrophysics I couldn't have a thesis that wasn't lightning research I'm not interested in.
Fucking fuck. I've spend most of the last year doing menial yardwork and worrying about becoming homeless from my gf and I being fucked over so much and even with getting a job it still ruins my plans. Oh, also I finally got married not too long ago when this stuff was peaking but couldn't enjoy much because of finances and my childhood cat of 15 years died 3 days after the wedding.
Things really suck.
