He believed that this is what people refer to as God, and he called it various things, most notably the Gaian Supermind. I believe he was most likely correct, as this Supermind can be accessed by anyone at any time via interfacing with psychoactive plants, just as our distant ancestors once did.
The reason I think he's correct is because I had one such experience of communing with this intelligence, and it actually told me exactly what it was. Gaia will actually physically be in the room with you, and it will speak to you inside your head and show you wondrous things. I was brought above the planet to the outer atmosphere, while she (I say she because it sounded and felt female) explained that I was loved, have always been loved, and always will be. One of the most beautiful experiences of my life. It showed me that I should hug my mom and loved ones more often and tell them that I love them. It showed me a "reel" of my relationships to people I love. It showed me hugging and supporting them. I realized in that instance how cut off from Love I was, and how universal it is, intrinsic to ALL LIVING THINGS. This revelation, while simple, I found to be quite profound, and it moved me to tears and sobs. It's not so much conveyed in language as in subtle feelings. Even as I type this all out it seems incredibly prosaic when compared to the experience itself.
Anyway, yeah, I believe this man wholeheartedly. And yes we do need an Archaic Revival.
