The easy options are to log tripcodes when they're used, or to add an "override" trip that is displayed as pedoQ's trip when used. An admin could also brute force the trips using the board seed data.
However, we would expect that if pedochan's Q got his trip stolen he would start whining about it on other chans, which has not been observed.
We can tell that Q is fake for the very simple reason that his strategy makes no sense.
As an insider leaking information about active investigations, he had to be aware that the targets of the investigations can read the chans. The targets of the investigations also have more internal information than anons do. They would be able to decode his posts and act on those decodings (destroy evidence, take vacations in nonextradiction jurisdictions, etc) much faster than we would. If he's posting real stuff, he's helping the targets. If he's NOT posting real stuff, but rather lies meant to get the targets off guard... then anything we successfully decode will mislead US too.
The only scenarios in which Q could be a real insider are:
- Q is part of the cabal, leaking information to help them. In that case, information implicating specific people or factions is probably false, but allusions to the crimes may be real.
- Q is a US government psyop meant to brainwash people into thinking Trump's a good guy.
