My brother has managed to squander 12 years of his existence; he's not any smarter, not in better shape, not more likeable. He's instead become an obese, socially incapable, poor, and quite frankly, stupid person. The saddest realization whenever I go visit the family is that he wants me to help him beat video games because even after 12 years of playing them, he's not particularly good at them. He also got addicted to heroin at some point and supposedly got clean.
