The nazis were not a return to tradition. They were progressives themselves who experimented with all sorts of whacky political formulas and had to engage in a campaign of mass mind control to maintain their popularity.
A monarch doesn’t rule by popularity. He rules by right of ownership. He is accountable to nobody but God and his prerogative is to be the enforcer and arbitrator of Natural Law among his subjects.
The very concept of a vote among the unwashed uninformed masses is a total inversion of natural law. Why should the job of government, the most important and necessary function of civilization, be divided up among the least knowledgeable and least able citizens?
Imagine if hospitals worked that way. Patient shows up with a fever, and a large lump in his neck, and asks the doctor what’s wrong. Would the doctor be right to say
>“It’s not for me to decide. The People should have their say. Let all the patients in the hospital vote on what your illness is and how to treat it!” This kind of nonsense wouldn’t be accepted in any field except for government in the age of “Democracy”.
