Kinda weird to think my last thoughts would have been some oxygen deprived Mad Men looking feaver dream lol. Started to make me think about the dreams other people have described when passing out from lack of oxygen. People who suffocated to death, did they experience them—these final dreams? People can be resuscitated after essentially becoming dead, like after the heart stops, clearly certain parts of the brain are recoverable after oxygen starvation so at what point does a person die? Clearly, the consciousness goes first, but the subconsciousness remains active for a while during suffocation. Now you think about death as being kind of lights out, but isn’t really? I wonder if anyone’s done brain scans on a dying person to see how long brain activity continues after “death”
