it's just quick maths. both classes have the grade weight breakdown on the syllabus so i can use that to calculate it all. for example for the math class 48% of the grade is homework, 15% is the midterm, 12% is attendance, and 25% is the final. as a collective i've gotten 80% on the homeworks, so 80% of 48 is 38.4. following the same process for the midterm and attendance i currently have 62.6/100 of all points that could possibly be achieved, and the lowest passing grade is 60/100.
doing the same thing for CS (and assuming my last homework grade is more or less the same as my previous ones) i've earned 58/100 total points, so i need to earn 2 more in order to pass. the final is worth 25%, so 10% of 25 would be the 2 points i need to acquire to succeed.
