Windows has an enormous amount of features that most people never use; I would get familiarized with PowerShell and all the features before learning Linux. If you want to play with Linux then you can spin up a virtual machine and throw a Ubuntu server on it. Learning how to configure a Linux server and some virtual networking is a useful skill it's not like piddling around. There is also "Windows Subsystem for Linux" now.
