It's spiritual attunement. In the same way that physical strength is different than intelligence is different from willpower is different from robust health, spiritual attunement is its own thing that a person can develop.
It just takes effort and a inner desire to feed one's spiritual appetites.
Some have that longing of spiritual curiosity naturally and find it easier than others to become spiritually attuned.
Some don't. Thus the term "Spiritlets" (vis-a-vis brainlet, manlet, etc)
