Gnostics essentially view the Christian God as the Demiurge. Not all Gnostic schools view the Demiurge as particularly evil, but essentially chaotic and misguided.

We have a very beautiful Orthodox church where I live that I absolutely love to visit.
I think that, if your view brings you to feel hate toward your fellow man then either you didn't fully learn its teachings or it is not a good one to begin with. This doesn't mean to accept abuse, but to defend your culture without the obfuscation of passion that leads us to become less than ourselves, animals, the very thing we struggle against.
