>>9794911there's a deep problem at root here that so many people were told "this is apocalypse, stay at home!" and accepted it. not sheeple unthinking, but to quote myself earlier, it's apathy masquerading as concern for health. everyone, everywhere, is too quick to take it easy and coast through things: with that mentality it's easy to see why in the face of an order to stay home you'd follow, you already want to
i wouldn't be so quick to heap blame on trump for the general trend (though refusing to confront governors is a terrible mistake in this case) - the biggest problem i see in him is a tendency to want to be the big american hero standing up for everyone. and that means he balks at difficult decisions like "spitting in the face of states rights to confront governors." there's also other really convoluted problems that i won't get into that makes things really muddy (basically i've come to understand that even though getting a washington outsider into power sounds like a great idea, at the end you end up with a guy in power who doesn't understand washington but has to work in it)
i'm still voting for him too, because the alternative is just returning to stupid decay and nonsense, but to me trump was always a stepping stone, never an endgoal or even a perfect ideal. what really concerns me about recent developments is this year's election has now been thrown a wrench, but luckily biden is so bad i think trump will pull through even in face of a recession - it's the next four years and 2024 that do not bode well
