>there's some protagonist that's special because we said so. there's going to be some simple conflict introduced that's nothing like what they've faced before. suddenly some macguffin/flash of inspiration solves the problem 4/5 of the way through the movie after it looks like all hope was lost. everything turns out fine.That's just because hollywood is almost completely dependent on these templates and checklists that they've fashioned over the past few decades.
There are movies that don't follow this structure like Memento for instance.
