a couple years earlier i did dislike things such as it too but it seems as if out of nowhere i gave playing it a try and liked it enough, though i did develop a taste for 2d a bit before
i did enjoy practicing harder games and wouldve been bummed out if i couldnt beat it so that kind of set itself and after that it grew on me further
the internet culture around it helped a lot to it i think also, it was juvenile and fun at least where i lurked, was just enjoyable to be around people who also liked it back then, and the people i know best now i very likely wouldnt have met if it not were for touhou existing
so it was pretty natural to be absorbed into all of that after playing enough
although the same definitely wouldn't happen now but thats another topic, years ago the people were bearable
also the cool kids club factor might apply here cause i just found it cool to be liking it, retarded kid stuff
but anyway, if you yourself dont hate it now, just imagine how you shifted to at least tolerate it except happening way faster cause i got computer addicted pretty early on in life
id say more but thatll have to cut it cause our power is out
