>>19821345Elyssa is liking the possibilities in what Nikki's mentioning already.
>"A nightclub? It must be down in Spaghetti Town, where they do all the wrestling then. If I have business that takes me into town, I'll definitely drop by. Maybe I can tell my father that I can help to expand our business with the Kade account, that should give me an excuse for a day trip."She keeps her face a friendly mask, and it genuinely does sound like a good idea. She's almost inclined to just let Nikki do what she wants in the Royal Archives and try to befriend her. But her story about the demon, and having possible demonic ancestry, that sounds dangerous. It also sounds SO VERY intriguing. Under other circumstances, she'd love to help Nikki find out just what was going on with all this, and learn more about it herself. But her duty is her duty, and this COULD go very badly. It'd be one thing if she was just helping Nikki raid the royal wine cellar or something, but quite another if her negligence and permissiveness somehow led to summoning a demon that laid to waste the castle or the Kingdom. And the potential rewards, and potential for royal favor, for stopping such a plot were too tempting to be ignored.
>"I'm afraid I don't know anything about demonology. Military history, finance, that sort of thing, sure - I've had to study it in my officer's training, or at my father's command. That does sound simply fascinating, though: a demon, contacting you in your dreams, CLAIMING you as family!? No wonder you've got so much to be curious about! You know, if you don't find what you need in the archives tonight, you might try asking Her Majesty directly, since you're good friends. What she doesn't know herself, she probably has someone in her service who knows, or knows how to find out."Elyssa doesn't mention it, but she recalls that she has even heard rumors that the Queen sometimes talks to the ghost of an ancient wizard, though she has no idea whether those stories are true.
