Either way, I have all the gear I need to hike the Appalachian trail. I’ll pretty much start the day after I get fired. All I need is enough money in my account to pay for gas to get down to Springer, GA, or Harper’s Ferry, WV, depending on when I get canned. My plan was that if I get canned I would do Springer GA to Maine starting in early feb-early March but we’re quickly approaching that so come mid summer I will probably start at harpers ferry and hike north to Maine and then once I do that I will hike from Harper’s ferry to the south, forgoing the 250 miles I’ve already done last year in VA/WV/MD
After that I will probably do pacific crest trail. I haven’t actually worked in like 2 years due to high paying tech job fully remote so I don’t even have the skills nor the drive to re-enter the workforce. There’s worse ways to spend your mid-twenties than living among the most beautiful nature areas in the world.
