>>7193093As somebody that studies the history of early Christianity, owning many historical and theological texts, I will state that the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches had started gradually taking on more pagan influences, particularly since the 4th century AD with the massive influx of new and often peer-pressured converts from paganism, mainly the Roman/Greek religion, some Germanic and Celtic elements, and possibly Slavic and other heathenry. Protestants are correct in regarding saint veneration and Mariolatry with wariness, among other pagan-influenced rituals, which are mostly justified by those churches today on the grounds of tradition, and establishing a physical sense of religiosity, which misses the point of Christ’s teachings and those of the Apostles, in order to fulfill the Great Commission, sharing the truths of Christ with as many people as you may be able to bear witness to. I recommend attending a church that derives straight from the source of Christianity. The Scriptures are essential to be taught with, particularly the books that comprise the Gospel.
