like in a balloon that is tied shut the air pressure is pushing against the inside of the balloon equally on all sides. but open a hole in that balloon and now the air pressure is pushing against the walls of the balloon on all spots but one causing it to move in the opposite direction of the hole on the balloon where air pressure isnt pressing against anything but escaping.
so when the vacuum machine is sucking on the air coming out its actually making it like one giant pressure chamber with the inside of the balloon and the inside of the vaccuum almost connected. so that the air pressure is moving equally against all sides of this larger combined pressure chamber.
