yes but it stacks with paladin smite so you can do a lot of burst with it
yeah you're right a barbarian or warrior is sooo much cooler. besides, i'm talking about a specific build where you go polearm master, sentinel, war caster, and repelling blast to make a 10 foot radius no go zone
GOO is boring. telepathy is barely useful most of the time anyway
