It hurts knowing I was also part of the problem. I used to go on many different sites but in the end it was only the same tiny handful everyone else goes on. Now I rediscover those old sites and forums and see they haven't had a post in years, and that post is usually the site declaring a coming update "soon" which never came, or on the forum is the first post in years asking "does anyone still come here?" And even that is often years ago as well.
Sometimes I wonder how many "ghost sites" there are on the web, just sat there on a server that's totally forgotten, or the owner just can't stand to let it die, so it sits there on aging hardware until it finally vanishes forever...
