It is much more expensive than any other game, because it is really more like a racing simulator, but compared to the cost of karting or something similar it is peanuts. It has all the good and bad of real racing. Crash out first corner? Fuck you race over. Crash into someone else's car or the wall? Fuck you learn to drive. You can be protested and stewards will review the clip of the incident and ban you permanently from the game. It has by far the most realistic car physics of any game, and spans all major genres of modern racing from open wheel to dirt track ovals and everything in between. It says a lot that Formula 1 drivers, NASCAR drivers, and even dirt sprint car drivers are all seen in game (under their real names, as it uses your credit card name). I've personally raced against world famous racers. But the reason I think pol would like it is because there is no hand holding, no catering to the lowest common denominator. It is ultimately a place for serious focus on driving skill and anyone who upsets that order with nigger behavior is banned. It's a fantastic game and I truly enjoy it. I've spent over $2000 on wheel, seat, pedals, etc. but compared to what I spend on real sports cars it's nothing.
Honorable mention goes to rally games like Dirt Rally and RallySimFans RBR. There is nothing as pure as the contest between man and rally stage, no distraction, no bullshit, just you and the road for mile after unforgiving mile. It takes a lot of skill to get good but once you are, your heart will be at 100 bpm the whole time as you fly through the trees an inch from death.
