Masks protect exactly 0% against any virus, as any virus can not only slip directly through it but also enter around it. What most people also don't understand that if you'd need masks and they would work the eyes would need to be covered as well.
But even if assuming the masks 100% worked: Many people just used their masks over and over, put them in their pockets or bag and put them on when necessary. Assuming bio-contamination that means total contamination, including of all they touch. Masks were also not discarded in bio hazard containers but regular trash bins or dropped on the streets.
So either way you spin it: Masks are bullshit.
>Why is medical staff using those then ?To protect themselves from spills, not viruses. There are special medical masks with silver in them that kill off whatever germs touch it. But that'd have been too expensive for the public, and caused a spike in silver consumption.
