What I mean though is rock songs from the 60s-90s used to critique culture, the government, essentially questioning the status quo.. Rock was THE mainstream genre until the mid 90s, then it disappeared and pop/rap took it's place, yet still to a much lesser extent because the audience was shrinking.. and nowadays nobody listens to modern music, the newer generations grew up without rock which traditionally served as THE analysis of our system.. it's kinda like we've lost our corrective antedote in a way..
