The friend who helped him wrote & publish it admitted they just copy-pasted shit from existing Theory of Relativity.
The only thing they brought was *removing* the parts that were clunky (instead of fucking trying to solve them) and publishing it to a larger audience.
He then spent his entire career jumping from team to team to get his name everywhere, knowing no one would say no nor question his lack of contribution as having "the" genius on your paper who a guarantee of progressing your own career.
