there's the losing faith in a lot of studios as well. of course EA and ubisoft are easy targets. but stuff like blizzard's downfall, cd project red putting out an unfinished mess. nintendo doing nintendo things. lazy remasters everywhere, gtav and skyrim being rereleased for the 5th time in 10 years or something.
of course there's still good stuff out there, but things that used to be aren't anymore, and that's not necessarily people growing out of it or other things becoming popular's fault.
