From Illinois all the way to Eastern Colorado, there's not much difference in the plain other than how much corn/soybeans are being grown. There's a few forests, and some highlands, but it doesn't vary that much unless you go up to the Dakotas or down to Texas, where changes in temperature make things screwy.
