From Illinois all the way to Eastern Colorado, there's not much difference in the plain other than how much corn/soybeans are being grown. There's a few forests, and some highlands, but it doesn't vary that much unless you go up to the Dakotas or down to Texas, where changes in temperature make things screwy.
Pic related is a road in Kansas, most of the midwestern states look pretty similar to this once you get past the farms.
