I have absolutely no idea why Iberians and Meds in general are so obsessed with being "white" as a label, when our own history is just as rich and proud as that of the Anglo-Saxon and Nordic people. I look basically like a Spaniard/Portuguese person and even though I don't consider myself the same "white" as a Germanic individual, there's absolutely no embarrassment at all on my general heritage. This just goes in general for Slavs as well, who also have a long tradition but for some reason want to be mish-mashed alongside Western Europeans, I can only assume out of unwarranted shame.
