Heads turn as Cassie and Lexi Kade enter a gala hosted by Dmitri Ivanov, a wealthy foreign businessman, in honour of his father Boris’ birthday. Lexi looks around the ballroom, then leans in close to Cassie and whispers in her ear. “So where’s our guy and his daddy?”
“Be patient,” Cassie replies.
For Cassie, tonight represented a rare opportunity to mix business and pleasure. Dmitri was his oligarch father’s only son, and stood to inherit all of his wealth and property, including a building right next to Club Xtacy. A building whose location prevented expansion of the venue. Cassie had no doubt that a deal to obtain that troublesome building could be made - if the decision was solely Dmitri’s. They’d met on a number of prior occasions when he had conducted business on behalf of his father, and more often than not, their encounters ended in bed.
His father however, was a different matter. Boris Ivanov. He was every bit as lustful as his son, but possessed an obsessive interest in Nikki that Cassie didn’t at all care for, and lacked his son’s charm. Worst of all, he had no interest in selling the building Cassie wanted to get rid of.
So, he had to go.
