He doesn't bully people because he "doesn't like them", but because he sees them as weaker. Show you have some spine, display some level of authority, most importantly, don't take it too seriously and he'll be nice. People get bullied because they fail to play along on the same frequency. They try to be too genuine and get thrown off balance when it's not reciprocated.
