Some Orthodox believe genesis literally but I think most of us believe in it metaphysically, as in it explains an underlying metaphysical reality as to how man falls away from God. But most Orthodox regard these metaphysical concepts to be more real than reality itself.
I know using this secular language does not do it justice but I imagine it’s the easiest way to explain it to someone who isn’t orthodox.
