There are two main camps on this board with respect to India:
The first views Indians as the saviors of the west. Indians are known for the ease with which they assimilate and the compatibility of their existing culture. This camp welcomes Indians with open arms as they recognize that virtually any other immigrant group is a step down.
The second camp views India with more suspicion and even resentment. Indians are high income earners in the West. Where is that money going? Is it going into the local economy or abroad? Are Indian tech workers, known as highly competent worker bees, out competing the native born westerners?
Personally, I fall into the first camp. My Indian neighbors are top notch: married couple, doctors, quiet, respectful. Indians are surely better than African immigrants, and Asians do not assimilate as well.
