>>13953881I think it stems from trying to get it up higher so you don't have to look as far away from the road to see the map, and dealing with the fact that it's huge. Smaller screens that fit into the dash better are usually just for rear-view cameras you only use while in reverse and a few other thing like the radio. If anything it looks like a GPS you stick onto the top of the dash got bigger and merged into it.
