>>21217917technologies growing larger and more sophisticated to the point that not even humans would be able to operate them but other lesser machines is other thing and you also don't need to be a genius to see how humanity always progressively invents things one more destructive than other and one day hypothetically some country or some organisation of people might invent a technology so powerful you would either have to submit or be destroyed completely and i'm not talking about nuclear weapons but something more fundamental and something that will secure all monopolies over any violence and terror everywhere in the world at once, humans are the only species in this universe that can just stop existing in a day not because of some planetary catastrophy but because of our ambition to occupy and subdue so that's exactly what i'm anxious about like what will eventually become of us after all these thousands of years of mutual destruction and evergrowing desire to control everything and everyone not by peace but by war, it's like some sociotechnological horror that might just become real any day or is probably already real we just barely feel its effects
>>21217924maybe in the grand scheme of things humans are just destined to go extinct like some advanced type of dinosaurs so after we destroy ourselves something else would arise to replace us, some other form of life that is built fundamentally differently thus more adaptive to existing as a one cohesive group throughout very large amounts of times, what if our whole existence is just as irrelevant as existence of a group of some oversized rats that lived 250 million years ago and went extinct 245 million years ago
