The way glucose is used is likely the most damning one. The body just doesn't use glucose without lead. People would be smaller (162/150cm) with lead, as they used to be, as it also regulates some hormones, and likely enter puberty much later. The things that lead supposedly disrupts (long term potentiation and synaptic pruning) look like synapses getting stuck and danaged, not like something tgat is supoosed to happen. Also my brain capacity very obviously increased.
Lead has never been known to be that toxic, and the civilization rapidly declined after its removal.
It has also been known to be good for the eyes (ithmid) and likely is the cause of the nearsightedness epidemic.
