>>16214684oh i see
ya i dont think it goes as far as to change how you perceive the world as a whole
but personally it does make me look at people differently, because of our lingo and such
basically the people ive been around a long time who speak turkish, i look at far differently than anyone ive been around a long time who speaks english
that might be because of a lot of things such as internet vs internet and intimate vs acquaintance though so i guess it doesnt count for much
but my sense of humor is definitely different between the two languages, and if nothing else then thats the one thing language can shape
some things are simply funnier when said in how it is in turkish, compared to english
jokes that would work in one wouldnt work in the other
and again vice versa to all of that
and that might purely be the basis on how i see people here differently actually, cause i still somehow find classroom banter funny when its in turkish, the lingo and everything, it appeases me in a way
ive fallen asleep during class while people were talking shit to each other and i probably wouldnt be able to do the same in an american classroom
i guess this is also more so inherent than shaped though so idk, might not even be related at all
but yea that kind of sounds like bullshit
although you should consider that the littlest changes in a persons day to day can change how they come out by the end of things a lot
maybe the language wont shape their thoughts and all by the nature of it, but, lets say that two people are living the exact same life within two universes but speak different languages
i think they will definitely go through different events and be at places in different times and such because of it
so by that point of look, the pure groundwork of a language can affect the motions of your life and therefore thoughts
but probably just rambling so whatever
