Training to disarm a handgun and immediately blast your attacker with it, is one of those things that 1. will never happen, and 2. has a high chance of getting you shot. But I respect the balls to train it. In a life or death situation, like if a jihadi wants to decapitate you and rape your 9 year old, it's worth it to attempt the move that will almost certainly fail, just because trying is better than dying.
