8 US states are still larger than New Zealand individually. Australia is roughly the size of the lower 48 states combined, that's large imo. New Zealand, not so much, you're about the size of a western US state. The south island is nicer imo. You're also larger than the UK, but countries in Europe are small in comparison to countries in the Americas. The Americas have 42.5 million sq km, all of Eurasia has 55 million sq km, Africa has 30.3 million sq km, and all of the Oceania has 8.5 million sq km (but is the least populated).
