Obviously there are leaders all over history of different types and power levels, but not all took their kingdoms to such heights as others. I'm not against you, it just seems like you are letting bias and wishful thinking get the best of you. I remember one other kingdom that I saw a documentary about in central, maybe south central Africa that seemed to be on this level. Zambia or Tanzania or something. They were basically the lynch pin in the ancient gold trade and had built quite an empire and structures at some time in the past. If I remember correctly, there wasn't a whole lot known about them currently and people are trying to find more out. Ethiopia and Egypt are obviously heads and shoulders above the rest. Had it not been for communism and western interference, Ethiopia would still have an emperor to this day. I still think it is far fetched to try and connect all of Africa to their achievements. Especially since they are so "diverse" as you say. There was definitely something special about these places that elevated them.
