After reading your post few more times, I think I understand enough to start asking questions. Your theory assumes that the drive itself also evolved, right? And so, there should also be many kinds of the drive now apparent, different for every species, even if the differences are marginal. Well, maybe very closely related species would have the exact same drive, but further evolution can distinguish them from one another. Uhhh....
