Today after we closed, I was surprised to find that all the staff (even those who hadn't worked that day) coming in for a staff meeting (who the fuck gave them the right to organise a meeting? Your job is literally to hand bread to customers). I said that it wasn't appropriate, and that I would call a staff meeting when I see fit. I left, and got a call mid way home from their "leader" (I guess) stating that if they didn't all receive a raise to bring them $16 an hour they would all quit. There's no way in hell I'm paying them that much. I didn't think they would, but since then they've all sent me text messages one by one, quitting without notice. What the fuck? We are supposed to be back in there baking at 4am, and apparently noone will be going in. I was going to take the day off tomorrow as well, and now these little fuckers have taken that away from me, after I gave them a good job and fair wages. I don't even live in an area with illegals, so I don't know what the fuck to do.
